About the business and role:
Attcall Civil Contractors are looking for a full time estimator. This is an opportunity to work in a robust and growing company currently undertaking works in the following trades; demolition, remediation, bulk & detail earthworks, civil storm-water, civil works including pavement and road construction.
We have a strong repeat client base and this is steadily growing. We are seeking an applicant with excellent interpersonal skills to continue our growth with both new and existing clients.You will be required to calculate accurate cost estimates, liaise with clients, suppliers and engineers to submit successful tenders and projects.
The salary will be proportionate to the applicant’s experience.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
- Prepare project estimates, budgets and cost control
- Provide detailed BOQ for tendering and construction administration.
- Managing client and supplier relations to achieve positive financial outcomes
- Develop and communicate methodologies and strategies to the construction team
- Administering sub-contractor & client variations.
- Review tender and subcontract documents to evaluate potential costs and assess the risks associated to them
Skills and experience:
- Min 5 years experience as an estimator in the construction industry
- Experience working with demolition, civil earthworks, roadworks and the like.
- Advanced computer skills including full Microsoft office suite. Pro Contractor MX (Quest) will also be an advantage or similar estimating/takeoff software.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationship.
- Strong analytical skills and first principles estimating.
- Proactive approach to work and ability to work independently or within in a team.
- Strong ability to identify and manage risk and resolve problems at a project level.
