Job Summary

Axieo are searching for a driven individual who is exceptional at building relationships over the phone, thinks commercially and has an obsession with delivering quality results to support our sales team within our Life Sciences division.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Establish and maintain multi-level relationships with all customers & ensure regular contact
  • Actively call potential clients to win new business and meet set targets
  • Manage and improve gross margin performance
  • Ensure customers comply with their agreed payment terms
  • Maintain all customer quotes & Trade Agreements ensuring accuracy across our CRM files

About the Role

Based at our office at Macquarie Park, this role will be critical to ensure our long-term success with customers by providing valuable support to them as well as our internal sales team.

The purpose of the OBAM role is to professionally represent Axieo via telephone to an assigned group of customers and provide effective management of existing accounts whilst also establishing new accounts to meet the financial, operational and strategic objectives of the business.

You will be required to work productively with a variety of internal stakeholders and manage the accurate record keeping of all data within our CRM software.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Establish and maintain customer relationships and ensure regular contact over the phone; log all call reports in CRM and maintain accurate data.
  • Build product knowledge to maximise our share of wallet across our full product range.
  • Provide forecast requirements for customers as required.
  • Ensure accurate recording & follow-up of customer samples.
  • Maintain all Customer Quotes & Trade Agreements ensuring pricing details are correct.
  • Undertake regular customer sales analysis ensuring we are securing budgeted business.
  • Resolving all complaints quickly and professionally.
  • Ensure all business activities are conducted in accordance with Trade Practices Laws and Policy.
  • Work closely with the State Sales Manager, Key Account Managers (KAM) and GM and provide reporting and insights on a regular basis.
  • Identify growth and/or strategic customers that can be transferred to KAM’s.
  • Implement the relevant requirements from the business Safety Health & Environment (SH&E) Plan to ensure statutory SH&E standards are upheld.
  • Monitor individual selling prices at each customer to devise and implement pricing tactics for customers and product portfolios.
  • Review all operational costs, variables and gross margins for individual customers and/or products to implement continuous improvement initiatives that benefit all parties.
  • Effectively manage customer credit limits and overdue debtors; ensure information within our ERP (MS AX) is accurate and up to date.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate for this role will have had previous experience in a customer service role requiring strong and detailed product knowledge and an understanding of trade practices implications, Profit and Loss Statements, Debtors, Creditors and Inventory.

Experience in sales/marketing is essential. As is a tenacious and resilient attitude that is comfortable with ‘cold calling’ over the phone – this is a must.

Other skills, knowledge and experience required include:

  • Proven ability to negotiate and influence outstanding results with Internal & External stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and working efficiently.
  • Motivated by strong desire for process improvement and simplification – always a better way.
  • Proven ability to quickly grasp complex commercial and/or technical concepts.
  • Graduate with a science/food science, sales or relevant field qualification
  • Computer savvy with ERP experience – preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX.
  • A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Team player with the ability to also work autonomously.
  • Strong customer relationship and negotiating skills.
  • Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work accurately and prioritise effective decision making.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities with ease and remain highly organised.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
