IDEAS supports people with disabilities Australia-wide by providing quality independent information through its websites, a telephone support line, training, consulting, print publications and community events.

Ensuring people with disabilities, their families and carers, have access to information, and are connected to exercise their life choices becomes even more important; and IDEAS is well positioned to be the premier, national provider of independent disability information.

This role manages the day to day operations of IDEAS’ call centre, providing first point of contact support (telephone and on-line) for people seeking disability related information. The role also contributes to the development of our information databases which underpin our information provision.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • considerable experience in information/help-line centres/offices, ideally in the community services or health promotion sectors;
  • a customer service focus;
  • the capacity to manage complex issues and the support of people in crisis;
  • a comprehensive understanding of the Disability sector, including relevant regulatory requirements, the NDIS and the UNCRPD;
  • excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • leadership and management skills; and
  • an ability to analyse performance and trends;

Ideally, you will also have qualifications in community services, health or business management.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a small, multi-disciplined and professional team making a contribution to the empowerment of people with disability.

The position is full-time, based in Tumut for one year (with the possibility of extension), with some travel required. SCHADS Award provisions apply, with generous salary packaging available.
