Provide high-level customer service and administrative support in the day to day activities of the Building Technology team.

 

The Charles Darwin University (CDU) Vocational Education and Training (VET) Faculty is responsible for the planning, delivery and reporting of government subsidised and fee for service training and assessment to approximately 14,000 students across the Northern Territory. 

 

The Building Technology team provides nationally accredited training to apprentices and trainees, pre-apprentice students and provides training to up-skill existing workers. Training is delivered in the following areas: Construction, Carpentry, Plumbing Services, Building Design Drafting and Technology, and Specific Construction courses which are offered throughout remote regions of the Northern Territory.

 

As a VET Customer Service Officer in Building Technology, you are the first point of contact for all customer enquiries from current and prospective students, the general public and staff. Your responsibilities include; providing correct and accurate information on the University?s application and enrolment processes, course offerings and eligibility for entry and effectively working with a range of software packages including Microsoft Office Suite and database programs.

 

In addition, you are also responsible for ensuring accurate entry of enrolments and resulting details into the University?s Student Management System, as well as recording student documents, roll books and other evidence of participation/documentation to meet audit requirements.

 

Your ability to provide high-level customer service, professionally and openly communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a culturally appropriate manner, and to competently set priorities, meet competing deadlines and problem solve will be imperative to your success.

 

Ideally, your experience will include relevant experience in customer service and office administration and demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Completion of Certificate III in Business or a related field is desirable, but not essential.
