Who is Standards Australia?

We have an exciting full-time, permanent opportunity to join our team as a Project Officer. The role will be based in our new offices in Sydney CBD close various forms of public transport.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting a results-driven Project Officer. In this role, you will be using your knowledge and expertise to deliver outcomes which are of value to Australia, its businesses, and its people

You will work with a diverse range of stakeholders in our technical committees to deliver standards development projects, from project plan to publication, for a number of technical committees engaged in national and international work programs. This includes facilitating a project kick-off workshop, producing a clear forward plan, confirming commitment to action and delivering within a strict project schedule.

This would be a great opportunity for someone who is used to dealing with multiple stakeholders, and managing issues and risks within a project role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain plans and information for all project using the organisation's enterprise project management system, including risk, scope, size and timelines - in consultation with stakeholders
  • Ensure projects are delivered within agreed parameters and the company's project management methodology
  • Effectively manage committee relationships to ensure successful project delivery
  • Coordinate meeting logistics
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with project stakeholders, mediating conflict and negotiating solutions where relevant
  • Liaise appropriately with the corresponding internal units and support organisational business objectives
  • Prepare and distribute meeting documentation (agendas, drafts, minutes)

What are we looking for?

  • Prior experience in facilitating groups, managing multiple stakeholders and/or coordinating projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing issues and risks
  • Strong administration and communication skills are part of your toolbox
  • Your command of the English language and related grammar conventions are excellent and translate to clear, concise written and verbal communications
  • You relate to stakeholders and peers with professionalism, commercial astuteness and open exchange
  • You work well in process-oriented environments but have a healthy inquisitive mind and are comfortable using this in technical environments
  • Excellent problem solving skills
