The role involves identifying the reason for arrears, negotiating payment arrangements in a timely manner, problem solving, skip tracing, assisting customers should they require assistance due to change in circumstances, liaising with internal departments to solve customer queries and general administration.

Responsibilities include

  • Utilising Collections skills to effectively maintain an arrears portfolio
  • Processing of loan arrears as efficiently as possible to enhance productivity while maintaining compliance with a high accuracy level
  • Profitability & Growth - Understand and meet business unit targets. Ensure that the outstanding balances out- perform the industry benchmarks for the arrears portfolio
  • Customer Service - Provide a high level of customer services skills when interacting with internal and external customers & stake
  • Relationship Management - Understand and manage relationships with relevant third parties (Customers, Suppliers and Key Stakeholders) to produce successful business results and needs
  • Policy and Process Management - Comply with all policies, processes, delegations and regulatory guidelines applicable to the activities and decisions required in this role

Skills required:

  • Prior experience in a Collections role
  • Great communication skills
  • Knowledge of the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009, Regulatory Legislative requirements and collections procedures
  • Strong computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to work in a team
