The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking to employ casual Customer Service Officers to assist the Audience Engagement team in providing high-level customer service during the NGV’s MoMA exhibition. Successful candidates will need to be available to commence at the end of July 2018 and be available until October 2018.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
You will be responsible for welcoming visitors to the NGV, ensuring that visitors receive high quality customer service and assisting with the facilitation and delivery of interactive projects featured in the NGV’s MoMA exhibition. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the NGV Audience Engagement team by providing exceptional customer service for children, families and adults.
  • Providing a welcoming and engaging environment for all visitors, in particular children and their families, in a respectful and encouraging manner.
  • Operating the NGV’s Ticketing & CRM system to sell exhibition tickets, memberships and multimedia guides, processing cash and credit card transactions in a busy environment.
  • Overseeing the use of exhibition equipment and multimedia and assisting with the delivery of participatory exhibitions and installations.
  • Assisting the Senior Project Officer (Audience Engagement), with the set-up, maintenance and facilitation of the NGV Kids gallery space throughout the day.

To be successful for the role you will be enthusiastic and committed to delivering quality customer service. You also have a current Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one. You will actively approach and seek to meet the needs of the customers by listening and looking for information needed to solve problems.  You inspire trust by treating all individuals fairly and identify and propose practical solutions to improve customer service, clearly explain information; listen to feedback and maintain a polite and considerate manner when assisting others.

Please note:    

  • You will be required to wear a uniform during work hours as chosen by the business.
  • You may be required to work on weekends, public holidays and evenings.
