We are currently seeking self-motivated and enthusiastic customer service professionals, who share our passion for delivering excellent customer service to join our award winning Contact Centres based in Rockhampton and Townsville.

Ergon Retail is a regionally focused and customer centric operating business of Energy Queensland, with teams located in Townsville, Maryborough, Rockhampton and Brisbane. Ergon Retail supplies electricity to about 700,000 customers across a vast operating area of over one million square kilometres (around 97% of the state of Queensland).

The electricity industry is undergoing significant change driven by customers, communities, digitisation and regulatory reform. Ergon Retail is embracing this change and when combined with our unique customer base presents significant development opportunities for our people and communities.

Part time and casual opportunities are now available to employees who are available to work on a varying roster between the hours of 7:00am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday in a modern, open plan Contact Centre, handling a large volume of inbound customer enquiries.

As a casual employee your hours will vary from week to week, dependent on business requirements and call volumes. There are many factors which are considered to calculate shift requirements such as: call volumes, sick leave, annual leave and your availability. Hours will vary and whilst we will roster to your availability, we are ideally seeking employees who are able to maintain long term availability over the full range of hours between 7:00am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday. You will receive your roster with a minimum of 2 weeks in advance.  

Our Customer Care Representatives are responsible for delivering high quality customer service in response to customer enquiries via the telephone, relating to move in/move out, account/billing and payment plans.

  • Intermediate to Advanced computer skills;

Full range of availability within our opening hours (7:00am - 6:30pm Monday to Friday).

These positions are expected to commence on 10th September in both Rockhampton and Townsville, you will need to be available for 18 business days of full-time paid training prior to commencing as a Customer Care Representative.

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Retail Union Collective Agreement.
