The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to fully utilise your risk and assurance experience within the Performance Improvement Team as the Sales & Operations Risk and Compliance Manager reporting to Head of Performance Improvement.
The role will require you to liaise closely with the Risk and Compliance team to ensure that the Sales and Operations division is aligned to CPS 220 Risk Management, the 1st Line of Defence.
The Sales & Operations and Compliance Manager will also manage risk in a way that is consistent and integrated with the Risk Management Framework and Group Internal Controls Framework. This position will be responsible for testing the design, effectiveness and improvement of key controls identified in the Sales and Operations risk register. Reporting and escalation of relevant information to responsible senior leadership and Executive Management and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Working with the Sales and Operations Heads of Department you will be responsible for:
- Implementation and alignment of HBF Group Risk Management Framework across Sales and Operations division, including reporting and escalation of relevant information to responsible senior leadership and Executive Management, the Risk and Compliance team or the Board Risk Committee as necessary.
- Ensuring HBF’s risk management and compliance frameworks are effectively implemented across Sales and Operations and significant risks are identified, assessed and appropriately mitigated.
- Management of Sales and Operations division developing, implementing and undertaking regular reviews of risks and formulating plans to improve the probability of achieving objectives by mitigating the adverse effects of risks.
- Co-ordinate between 1st Line Risk Owners and Control Owners in the Sales and Operations division and the 2nd Line Risk and 3rd line Assurance functions as required.
- Proactively identify risks in the Sales and Operations division and conduct risk assessments when necessary.
- Develop robust Risk Action Plans to treat and manage the risks to an acceptable level, including the timing of delivery.
- Testing the design, execution and effectiveness of key controls to manage Sales and Operations risks.
- Develop and maintain an integrated process of risk assessment, business impact analysis and business continuity preparedness across Sales and Operations teams, including recovery and resumption strategies.
- Ensure the Sales and Operations business continuity crisis management sub plans documentation and procedures are reviewed regularly.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Minimum 5 years’ risk and assurance experience within financial services (or equivalent) and 3 lines of defence framework.
- Degree qualification in Commerce, Accounting or other relevant disciplines.
- Proven experience with APRA-regulated institution or equivalent and applicable regulatory standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the application of enterprise risk management methodology, processes and tools.
- Strong communication skills with influencing and negotiating ability to build trust and credibility.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
