About the role
  
My client is a leading Sporting Governing Body. A rare opportunity has risen for an experienced Legal & Compliance professional to develop and imbed a robust Risk & Compliance program for the Sporting Body.
  
The role is broad across all three areas and responsible for leading and driving the overall function
  
Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement a robust Risk Management framework
• Advise on all legal and Governance matters across the sporting body
• Develop and implement A superior regulatory Compliance framework and program
• Supporting the board along with the Risk & Audit Committee
• Educate the organization on regulations and industry practices
• Support the GM in matters relevant to judicial bodies.

The culture within the organization is output focused which offers a huge amount of autonomy and flexibility is very much emphasised. Working with C- Suite Stakeholders both locally and Internationally, experience at board / director level will be highly advantageous.

Who we are looking for
  
A lawyer by trade you will have a background across legal and preferably Compliance at a leading organization (Commercial / Sporting Body or Financial Services)
  
The ability to proactively drive, enhance and take ownership of a compliance program is essential.
  
As a strong communicator, you will have the ability to engage and influence key members across the sporting body. Along with The board, The directors and International Officials. The ability to educate and embed best practice is key!
  
Key Competencies / Experience  you will have;

• Preferably a blended background of both Legal & Compliance
• A strong legal background and proficiency in the drafting of contracts, policies, and official documents.
• Prior experience in developing, enhancing and continuously improving Risk & Compliance frameworks
• Strong knowledge and understanding to NZ & AU regulatory requirements.
• Superior communication & stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Prior exposure at board level reporting and presentation
