We are currently looking to appoint a Paraplanner to our Financial Planning Practice in Melbourne to provide technical support to our financial planners.  Whilst prior experience is desirable, we will consider candidates who are interested in a career in financial planning who may not have had prior experience. 

 

The Role:

  • Prepare strategic statements of advice for clients, under the guidance/supervision of financial planners
  • Prepare reports in relation to client reviews and amendment of financial strategies
  • Handle routine client queries under the supervision of financial planners
  • Ensure client satisfaction through the delivery of high quality service to financial planners
  • Constructively participate in team meetings and development including supporting the implementation and use of process improvement strategies
  • Conduct financial modelling to assist financial planners determine appropriate strategy for clients
  • Assist financial planners with the implementation of the statements of advice
  • Oversee processing of documents including application forms and rollover forms, lodgement of forms, plus correspondence associated with these documents
  • Play a hands on role in systemising the practice, for example, developing templates as required
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of personal financial planning concepts
  • Support financial planners in business development opportunities, such as preparing presentations and creating newsletters
  • Remain abreast of products, relevant legislation, regulatory controls and other relevant Government initiatives
  • Maintain accurate working knowledge of superannuation, taxation, insurance, estate planning and Centrelink
  • Act in accordance with Financial Services Reform Act and Towers Watson’s Australian Financial Services Licence
  • Ensuring adherence to company standards, quality assurance programs and processes

 

The Requirements:

  • Appropriate qualifications or progressing towards completion of industry education requirements
  • Excellent working knowledge of software such as Coin and XPlan
  • Proven experience in a similar role dealing with mid-high net worth individuals
  • Ideally RG 146 compliant
  • Knowledge of corporate superannuation will be highly regarded
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in own work
  • Strong numeracy skills coupled with a demonstrated ability to make commercially sound recommendations
  • Initiative, drive and resilience in working in a quick-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with critical thinking know-how that converts core issues into workable solutions
  • A self-starter able to work with minimal supervision, prioritise workflow and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
