About the Role?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the BOQ Group Compliance team as a Compliance Partner for our Retail Banking and Product & Strategy business areas. This is a ‘hands on’ role where you will really be able to make your mark, partnering with business leaders to develop and implement a compliance framework. 

 Using your ability to influence and strategize you will identify the key compliance obligations and risks to develop and implement a compliance framework. You will build your credibility through ongoing engagement with the relevant business units, advise on effective controls and solutions to compliance risks, and provide innovative education and training. 

 Key responsibilities;

  • Develop and implement a compliance framework for your business units.
  • Provide advice and support to your business units on identifying compliance obligations, evaluating compliance risks and controls and integrating obligations into policies, procedures and processes.
  • Provide assurance and advice around legislative compliance and licensing conditions.

 

About you?  

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Strong operational and technical knowledge of the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth) (NCCP) and financial services regulation (FSR) .
  • Extensive experience in the Australian finance and banking industry ideally within a retail banking environment or from a legal background working with financial services regulators – ASIC, APRA and AUSTRAC.
  • Practical understanding of the Australian Standard on Compliance Programs and its implementation requirements.
  • Strong influencing and persuasion skills with the ability to gain commitment to compliance at all levels within BOQ (up to and including Executive).
