What you will be doing
The Manager, Employer Engagement’s is responsible for creating and maintaining new corporate default super arrangements with a secondary goal of increasing advice to Mine Super members. 

Specifically the Manager, Employer Engagement is responsible for:

  • Work with the Executive Manager, Engagement to develop and implement strategic and operational objectives relevant for optimising and growing employer engagement to achieve business targets and outcomes
  • Increase annual member acquisition rates in line with departmental goals and KPI targets
  • Increase employer engagement metric in line with departmental goals and KPI targets
  • Meeting employer growth targets to achieve overall business unit goals and targets
  • Contributes to strategic direction through development of operational policy, systems, processes and procedures relevant to employer engagement activities and outcomes
  • Sourcing and qualification of new (external) businesses and opportunities with a plan/process to convert to default employer super fund
  • Support the migration of new employer default super fund employees to members of Mine Super
  • Networking and leveraging existing sponsorships, memberships and partnerships
  • Available to work reasonable additional hours which may be outside of standard business hours as the role requires e.g. travel, after hours networking events etc
  • Demonstrated understanding of individual key employer needs and tailoring of offer as demonstrated through up to date Key Account Plans
  • Provide monthly progress reporting (progress on client wins, new employers for the period, actions taken for KAM, campaigns run for the month, default fund status, lost default fund status, lost/closed employers, Centricity gains and loss through surveys)
  • Develop and maintain employer opportunity pipeline
  • Penetration in KAM
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for Default funds status
  • Budget setting and maintenance in line with cost conscious culture within delegations for the role
  • Risk management setting and control awareness as related to default fund status
  • Work with Communications/Marketing team members to ensure due diligence processes are met and align with employer outcomes
  • Ensure projects are effectively executed through development of linkages with relevant departments (Advisers, Marketing, Customer Insights/ BI Team, Governance, Insurance etc)
  • Interpret results and develop strategies which contribute to growth and retention targets as appropriate for the department
  • Align, motivate and inspire those in the team to achieve by demonstrating commitment to the vision, values and strategic direction
  • Ensure operational quality and efficiency targets are achieved by monitoring and reviewing compliance and ensure risk is managed appropriate and within appetite
  • Ensure legislative and organizational requirements are met
  • Satisfy requirements of the annual training plan and maintain CPD register
  • Any other duties as required

Who we’re looking for
The successful candidate will possess outstanding networking, presentation, influencing and communication skills, a proven track record of sourcing and maintaining new business relationships in the superannuation, finance or mining related industry.

Qualification profile

  • BA of Business, Marketing or related field (minimum mandatory) or relevant industry experience
  • RG146 (mandatory) – with annual refresher (or commitment to become accredited within 6 months of employment)

Essential Experience Profile 

  • High level relationship management, communication (both written and verbal) negotiation and formal presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and realise new opportunities
  • Must be able to accomplish results in a cross functional team environment exhibiting formal and informal leadership skills and strong goal/results orientation
  • Strong marketing experience – ability to identify marketing program opportunities and achieve market success
  • Proven experience in a similar senior relationship role, preferably within a financial services environment, with specific responsibility for managing relationships with senior executives
  • Awareness of superannuation benefit design, insurance arrangements, legislation and financial planning industry
  • Basic knowledge of fund administration, investment products and process
  • Detailed understanding of client education preferences and requirements
  • Advanced IT skills, able to efficiently and effectively use all Microsoft Office programs and business specific software, continually upskill on software required to perform role.
