The OpportunityOur client is seeking a Credit Analyst / Underwriter to join their company in Melbourne CBD, with the potential to earn up to $85,000 per annum package | Negotiable Salary $60,000 - $76,000 per annum based on your experience + superannuation.
The primary purpose of this position is to manually assess loan applications by gaining an understanding of each applicant's situation.
Some of your responsibilities include:
- Assessing lending scenarios received through accredited mortgage brokers and BDM managers
- Assessing, recommending and approving loan applications in accordance with lending policies
- Preparing loan documentation in accordance with the company's financial procedures
- Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with internal and external customers
- Thinking laterally and offering solutions to lending proposals submitted
To be successful in this role you must have:
- 5+ years experience in the mortgage industry
- A Degree or Diploma in Banking or Finance
- Ideally, have experience working outside the major banks
- Experience in a credit union, finance company or a smaller bank (desirable)
- Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport
- The ability to work as a part of a friendly team
