About the role

Reporting to the General Manager - Research, Marketing & Investments, the Temperate Fruits Fund Manager is responsible for strategy development, investment decisions and the overall performance of a specific set of funds across R&D and Marketing initiatives in Temperate fruits. The role is in a pivotal position to listen and communicate with industry to make specific investment decisions, as well as to continually explore opportunities which deliver investment synergies to maximise available investment funds and return on investment.     
 
Skills & experience
This outstanding opportunity to support the needs of industry will require the following;

  • A broad understanding of agriculture, ideally with an exposure to Horticulture
  • Qualification in agricultural science
  • Demonstrated experience in finance, with an understanding of financial and cash flow statements;
  • Agri project investment experience with ability to analyse the performance of investments
  • Strong understanding of open innovation and how it relates to investment
  • Experience and/or the ability to look at opportunities and apply a standardised approach to problem solving
  • Highly developed influencing, negotiation, leadership and communication skills
  • Sound relationship building skills across a diverse stakeholder group, internal and external
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and strategic planning capability
  • Well-developed financial and business acumen, combined with strong commercial judgement
  • Solutions focussed 
  • Highly disciplined
