The Role
Risk Advisor will be providing oversight of enabling functions (People Experience, Risk, Legal and Finance) in all matters pertaining to risk management and support to the business in increasing its risk maturity through advice and guidance.
Key Accountabilities:
You will play an active role in driving cultural change and increased awareness of risk management through partnering with management and contributing to effective risk management through:
- Being an active participant and provide oversight of business opportunities and risks across enabling functions
- Provide timely, value-adding strategic and tactical risk management advice
- Support the business through interpretation and implementation of frameworks and policy
- Contribute to the oversight of the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of frameworks, policy and cultural shift toward the achievement of risk maturity targets
- Represent the Chief Risk Office as a key stakeholder on initiatives and change opportunities.
Experience & Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline (business , law, finance, commence, IT, mathematics, risk, compliance)
- Solid experience in risk management experience or similar business (Insurance, Banking or Financial Services background desirable)
- Demonstrated balance of commercial acumen (internal and external) and depth of experience
- Working knowledge of practices, and concepts relating to risk (e.g. operational risk, compliance risk, project risks)
- Working knowledge of internal controls and assurance practices
- Working knowledge on the interpretation of risk models and governance of risk models
- Good legislative and regulatory interpretation and application skills
- Good risk expertise coupled with energy and passion for the risk profession
