Our client is a leading global bank with a large presence in Sydney. Due to on-going growth, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified risk professional to join its team on a permanent basis. 


You will be responsible for;

• Maintaining the risk profile for the Wholesale Lending business, and supporting stakeholders
• Acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and helping the business identify opportunities to improve processes, and formulate solutions - liaising closely with Originations teams & Relationship Managers 
• Driving a strong risk culture across business stakeholders
• Analysis of risk reporting and data to identify and understand risks
• Identifying and initiating actions to mitigate risks and strengthen controls
• Undertaking diagnostic deep dives on the risk and control environment and identifying control improvements where possible
• Preparing reports and insights which will enable oversight of the performance of these businesses against operational risk frameworks and compliance with regulatory obligations

You will possess;

• 8 - 12 years experience in Risk Management / Consulting / COO roles for Wholesale Lending in Institutional Banking  
• Strong understanding of the dynamics and working of a sound risk and control environment (including frameworks & methodologies)
• Solid product knowledge across Wholesale Loans, Deposits, Transaction Banking, Trade Finance, Fixed Income & FX 
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence across a range of stakeholder groups
• Ability to identify critical threats and opportunities and take action to resolve accordingly
• Ability to analyse trends, diagnose problems and issues and then recommend appropriate actions dealing with the underlying root causes
• Relevant tertiary degree + professional qualification
• Confidence and ability to work independently
• Ability to manage multiple activities & stakeholders and prioritise your work accordingly
