The Role

At ING we place heavy emphasis on the value of our customers, our Customer Operations Department play a key role in maintaining customer satisfaction. We are seeking a Consumer Credit Assessor to join our New to Bank team in Customer Operations. This role is responsible for the credit assessment and proactive follow up of consumer credit applications for new and existing customers utilising Delegated Lending Authorities (DLA).

 

The successful Consumer Credit Assessor (Level 1) will apply their sound credit knowledge and skills in unsecured lending to ensure consumer credit applications comply with ING Credit policy, procedure and regulatory requirements. In addition, the Consumer Credit Assessor should be able to adapt to constantly changing environments, both in organisational change and external market conditions. Responsibilities
  • Assessment of new and existing customer  consumer credit applications within DLA, and in line with bank policy
  • End to end processing of consumer credit applications
  • Credit review and decisioning of applications via refer or decline appeals
  • Resolution of customer and stakeholder enquiries
  • Generation of ideas for continuous improvement
  • Positive approach in relation to change and improvement
  • Timely and professional response to all incoming emails, and phone calls
  • Outbound calls in line with quality standards to customers  and stakeholders
  • Ensure all follow up is completed in a timely manner
  • Support and training to assist team development as required
About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • HSC or equivalent
  • MS Office experience  
  • 3-5 years of finance industry experience, ideally in unsecured lending
  • Delegated Lending Authority held (ideally over $30,000)
  • Sound credit knowledge, & regulatory requirements
  • Customer Service experience
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate strong Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi task
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and stakeholders and vendors
