About the opportunity:

The Financial Services Administrator provides transactional and client service administration support for the retail and wholesale funds offered by our business, as well as the annuity, superannuation and allocated pension products offered by the Life company.

The Team

The role reports into the Operations Manager.

Challenger’s Client Operations team works closely with the Distribution, Product and other teams. Regular tasks, prioritisation and team work is required to support Challenger’s overall strategy. 

The team environment is one of which each administrator takes ownership and responsibility for enquiries received and to ‘get the job done’. This includes helping other team members where specialised knowledge or experience is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing written and telephone enquiries and requests from investors and advisers.
  • Maintaining accurate registry system records.
  • Processing of transactions including applications, maturities, redemptions, maintenance and deceased estates.
  • Preparing, producing and sending correspondence to investors.
  • Following up with advisers, product partners (such as AMP and CFS) and investors to ensure the correct and appropriate documentation is received.
  • Ensuring the integrity of data is kept high allowing client transactions to be processed accurately whilst adhering to the company’s service standards.
  • Peer review and confirmation of team members work to ensure that all work is correct and accurate.
  • The action and resolution of enquires - both internally and externally in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Liaising with team members to advise of any processing problems identified that may cause impact to other team members or teams.
  • Fully participating and abiding by changes to procedures, products, services and systems and to give support in their implementation.
  • Making responsible decisions within limits of authority to resolve minor difficulties and devise solutions to unique problems.
  • Participating in special projects as required.

Skills and experience: 

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field (preferred)
  • Experience working in the financial services industry (advantageous)
  • Proven success in a client service oriented role
  • PC literacy
  • An understanding of the Australian superannuation landscape
