About the role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our growing Anti Money Laundering & Sanctions Operations team as a Senior Sanctions Analyst. 

As Senior Sanctions Analyst you will be responsible for mitigating legal and regulatory risks by operating an effective Sanctions & PEP screening and alert management process for the BOQ Group.

Working within a wider AML & Sanctions Operations team and closely with the Financial Crime Program, the Senior Analyst role will be responsible for oversight of a team of Analysts ensuring that effective procedures and processes are embedded; escalations and alerts are worked to appropriate SLAs; and an effective maker checker process is in place to provide assurance around alert management and decision making.

 

About you:

The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

• Formal training/qualifications in AML/CTF/Sanctions or investigations (desirable) 
• Relevant tertiary qualification (desirable) 
• Experience working with Sanctions and/or PEP screening processes and alert monitoring and investigations (desirable)
• Previous experience working in a financial institution 
• Experience in assuring regulatory compliance 
• Any previous experience relevant to the successful performance of role outcomes
• People management experience
• Training/education of staff

Naturally you will have a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail, enjoy problem solving and report writing, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
