Our client is is an established and large scale global fund manager. The global equities fund is large scale and is a concentrated portfolio of the world’s highest quality companies at the right price. Based on an internal promotion to another sector and the fund broadening out its stock exposure there is an opportunity for an analyst to assist the coverage of global retailers and retail brands such as Zara, TJ Maxx, Nike and Adidas. Deep coverage will be for approximately 6 stocks, with broader coverage of roughly 20 stocks within this sector. This fund is known for offering opportunities to develop broad knowledge, change sectors and encourages debate within the team. This fund is also focused on an environment where work and life is balanced to a sensible degree.
Reporting to the Head of Research and working closely with the Head of Consumer and Retail this role will involve deep coverage of stocks in sectors covered above from day one. This will involve: developing and maintaining deep financial models (most are already in place); working with team members to make sense of assumptions in growth, risk and quantifying catalysts which may mean a rerating of a particular company; once a year you will do a global trip which will usually span Europe and the US; Communication with potential investee businesses; Market/Industry analysis.
To be considered you will have between 2-4 years’ experience within buy/sell side equities or Investment Banking. You may also be within strategy/corporate development within a retailer with strong financial qualifications. There is a minimum expectation of a distinction average in your university degree and a UAI/TER/ATAR mark of above 96 (or equivalent top 4% market within your high school qualification).
