Take of a diverse role that will give you breadth and variety across a number of our business groups.

You will be working in the Business Operational Risk Management team to support and advise 5 diverse divisions including Brand & Marketing, Group Foundation, Global Security, Business Improvement and Strategy & Services Management.

You will be responsible for working in a collaborative partnership with each of the divisions to monitor, improve and assess their risk and control environments. You will drive initiatives that develop a strong, proactive risk culture and clear understanding of the risk framework.

Reporting to the Global Head of Business Operational Risk for Services Management, you will use your knowledge and experience of Banking and Operations to establish and embed key Operational Risk Framework activities across the diverse range of business processes, stakeholders and global locations. Additionally, you will promote, influence and monitor Risk culture across divisions whilst engaging and holding senior stakeholders accountable for managing Risk. You will proactively perform Risk assessments whilst working with management on practical Risk responses and develop meaningful Risk insights and reporting.

You will be a motivated risk professional with exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes, think laterally and identify insight from potentially complex situations. You will be able to demonstrate experience within an Operational Risk Management role, ideally gained within the first line of defence and within a dynamic international financial institution or professional services firm. You’ll be supported by an experienced and collaborative team to achieve success and grow as a Risk Professional.

Compliance Manager - Regulatory Assurance 

You will be working within our Compliance Regulatory Assurance team within our Risk Management Group, responsible for delivering effective risk-based assurance reviews, to ensure compliance with Australian laws and regulations and our compliance framework.

Joining the Regulatory Assurance team, means you will work across all business units to undertake periodic reviews covering the design, execution and operational effectiveness of the regulatory control framework. Regulatory Assurance reviews can cover trading desks, business functions, branches, geographic locations and cross-entity thematic areas.

Reporting directly to the Senior Compliance Manager of Regulatory Assurance you will drive business engagement and confirm the assessment of key compliance risks and controls to business stakeholders, this as part of the annual risk and control self-assessment exercise. You will also conduct regulatory assurance reviews of key areas identified via the annual risk and control self-assessment exercise, as well as those requested by Compliance management or other areas within the Business, You will continue to maintain effective oversight of the Australian regulatory universe, review and test coverage and provide meaningful and timely reports of reviews conducted.

You will also ensure that underlying testing activities undertaken are appropriately recorded and accounted for, and monitor and track the actions resulting from exceptions noted during reviews up until successful closure; as well as drive initiatives to achieve greater compliance and business-oriented results.

You will bring with you solid regulatory compliance assurance experience from within one of the Big 4 audit firms, a financial services organisation or a financial services regulator.  You will have effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to negotiate at all levels and be able to demonstrate an inquisitive and analytical mind with the ability to proactively identify and analyse problems, and propose viable solutions. You will also have the ability to develop relationships across various stakeholders, including regional Compliance staff and the business, whilst demonstrating exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
