Meers Recruitment Solutions is currently looking for a high performing Sales Consultant to join growing Finance Co.

This position is responsible for growing and maintaining new customers (merchants) within geographical area. This is achieved through identifying and signing prospective merchants and conducting field visits, training of sales staff, and through regular phone contact . The Sales Consultant will also be required to create, maintain and develop credible relationships with signed merchants in order to increase utilisation of product at the point of sale. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Contact & target new clients in order to generate profitable new business volume
  • Develop profitable new business within existing allocated customer database
  • Demonstrate proactive sales traits by ensuring sales activity reaches the business required sales metrics
  • Achieve monthly volume sales target
  • Achieve monthly merchant acquisition sales targets
  • Deliver sales training for merchants and their staff to improve their ability to convert qualified prospects
  • Develop relationships with new and existing merchants
  • Provide ongoing coaching and motivation of merchants and their staff
  • Establish and maintain a call cycle of regular visits/appointments to new and existing merchants. Such visits should be arranged to ensure quality time with the individual key decision makers and sales staff
  • Create and manage an individual profile of each merchant and its sales staff by maintaining adequate records of all merchant visits.

Experience, skills & qualifications

  • Previous sales experience, preferably in a third party sales
  • Competency in developing and implementing a targeted sales business plan
  • Proven experience coaching and / or training sales staff
  • Computer literate – previous CRM system experience
