Summary

The Fraud Control Advisor will drive the development and continual maturity of fraud prevention, detection and response to financial crime within the Insurance function; and will execute a program of work focused on assisting the Insurance function team to effectively manage fraud risk.

Key Accountabilities

• Play a role in driving cultural change and an increased awareness of fraud management through successful interaction and relationship management with key stakeholders across the Insurance Function.
• Advise and challenge the Insurance function to ensure that claims fraud is appropriately managed
• Provide technical knowledge and subject matter expertise on operational processes, procedures and business initiatives relating to fraud management including regulatory and group policy change
• Undertake activities to provide assurance that management of fraud exists and that fraud management and governance processes are implemented and operating as planned
• Work in partnership with Intelligence Analysts to direct tactical operations in line with identified fraud risk areas
• Make assessments and recommendations to the Insurance function in relation to areas where fraud management can be improved (gaps and opportunities)
• Ensure detection and intelligence insights drive fraud control strategies and recommendations
• Work with the business to facilitate the rectification of business and compliance failures in consultation with 1st and 2nd LOD Risk Functions
• Assist the Fraud & Intelligence department with Incident management, breach rectification management and IIRIS training/support in in consultation with 1st and 2nd LOD Risk Functions.

Skills & Experience

• Practical experience or qualification in investigations or fraud risk (mandatory)
• Tertiary qualification in investigations or Risk Management(preferred)
• Proven expertise in insurance claims preferably within personal injury (preferred)
• Applied risk management experience within Insurance
• Minimum 5 years experience in insurance or financial services

• Experience in project delivery and workshop facilitation and building / designing content

·Experience in developing and implementing fraud controls
