The opportunity

We currently have an open term, full time opportunity for an Associate to join QIC’s Global Private Capital (GPC) team in Brisbane.

This is a unique opportunity to join our GPC team who are a high conviction, global thematic investor in private capital opportunities. This newly created data science role, is focussed on the extraction, analysis and development of insights from global investments managed by GPC, including top quartile funds , co-investments and directs

Your role will be to gather information, analyse, interpret, automate and derive insights from data, sourced from the portfolio and the broader market, that will highlight themes that enhance the team’s investment decision making, forward looking strategies, risk management and client experience.

This is a rare opportunity to build this data analytics and research capability in the team and implement new tools for generating insights and efficiently delivering these to our clients through all phases of the investment lifecycle. You will work alongside all levels of the investment team and have a true seat at the table with your work being highly valued by the team.

The ideal candidate

With at least 5 years’ experience in the investment management industry coupled with your foundational Business, Finance, Economics or Commerce Degree, you will be able to demonstrate a track record of being a collaborative, self-aware, results focused team player.

Other essential attributes include:

• Passion for private equity investments
• Strategic, innovative and critical thinking
• Curiosity and drive to understand the stories behind the data
• Experience with a range of data analytics tools. Compiling, analysing and interrogating data, delivering meaningful insights via engaging presentations (written and spoken).
