Reporting in to the Strategic Investment and Planning Manager, the newly formed role of Finance Manager will lead and deliver the annual budget, forecasting and corporate plan leading a team of two analysts. The role will also focus on driving value add continuous improvement opportunities in cost management supporting the strategic focus on ‘Relentless Pursuit of Lowest Prices’. Other key responsibilities of this role will include;

• Lead and deliver the annual budget and monthly forecasting process
• Lead and deliver the annual corporate plan
• Lead and deliver relevant documentation, reporting & presentations as required (including Wesfarmers)
• Engage with the business to identify risks and opportunities in a timely manner
• Convert issues and risks into operational activities to solve, mitigate and/or manage
• Identify new opportunities through implementation initiatives and realisation of improved performance (eg: Admin cost opportunities)
• Provide leadership in coaching and developing team members

To meet the challenges of this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience;

• Degree qualified in Finance, Commerce or related discipline (required) combined with Advanced degree or professional qualification CA/CPA/MBA (preferred)
• Strong prior experience working in a similar planning finance role within a large fast-paced organisation ideally with experience in managing small teams
• High level of commercial acumen and financial statement understanding
• Possess an ability to challenge the status quo in an engaging way, and influence all levels of the organisation whilst building strong stakeholder relationships
• Ability to use information to assess options and determine recommended option
• Ability to manage and resolve complex issues
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills combined with advanced analytical and financial modelling skills
• Experience in the use of Financial Systems (eg: SAP) including accounting and general ledger experience
• Ability to drive improvements and meet tight deadlines
