JS Careers is currently sourcing an experienced retail banking (home lending) credit risk professional for a global bank. This role will assume a key senior leadership position in a highly successful lending unit. To be suitable for this role you must have 8+ years of credit decisioning experience in the Australian retail banking industry - with a key focus on residential lending. 

Responsibilities will include : 

• Lead and manage the credit risk team for credit structuring, decisioning and verification of relevant products including residential & small commercial mortgages, credit cards and personal loans;
• Proactively drive the team to implement process and policy improvements;
• Facilitate the approval of local and global regulatory credit policy changes;
• Manage a range of external stakeholders, with particular focus on valuations experts. 

Suitable profiles must include - 

• A minimum of 8 years credit experience in a retail banking environment, including current experience within mortgage underwriting (critical);
• Current experience from a major global retail bank, or Australian bank within credit.
• Extensive experience in the analysis, decisioning and verification of property valuations, including high value residential facilities, including construction; 
• Strong leadership and management experience with a commercial acumen and focus on credit quality; 
• Excellent communication skills;
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
