As a Lending Operations Expert you are part of our leadership team, responsible for building and driving the development of the Retail Lending Operations (RLO) team. You will work in conjunction with our People Performance Managers to build and execute strategies to enhance staff performance and achieve a quality of excellence. This is a really exciting time to join Toyota Financial Services during times of business transformation and the centralisation of our Retail Lending Operations department to the new Operations Centre. Your subject matter expertise in this field will compliment your ability to provide technical coaching, mentoring and training across the RLO space.
 
Reporting to the Head of Retail Lending Operations, your responsibilities will include:
 
  • Leading and managing operational staff across our Retail Lending department, driving enhanced productivity and results
  • Develop an employee-orientated culture which emphasises high performance, quality continuous improvement, employee retention/engagement and career development
  • Coaching and developing your team through ongoing mentoring, training and performance management
  • Work with your team and subject matter experts to identify key areas of development, reward and recognition incentives  
  • Involved in decision making regarding recruitment, implementing people strategies, manage workflow, succession planning and talent mapping
  • Consult with broader management in leading the team to meet Toyota’s expectations for efficiency, productivity and quality of service delivery
  • Manage staff attendance, absenteeism and return to work processes as required
  • Manage staff capability to minimise escalation and complaints and disputes
  • Manage and prepare reports to track strategic goal alignment as per business needs
  
To ensure your success in this role, ideally you will have:
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a people leadership and development role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting and accounting principles and practices  
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and practices and employee relations
  • High level of Microsoft Office Skills (including intermediate to advanced Excel)
  • Exposure to Hybrid/Agile work practices is an advantage
  • Demonstrated ‘Thought Leadership’ capability and continuous improvement mindset
  • Proven ability to lead change and demonstration of change advocacy is essential, a change management certification would be highly regarded
