We have an exciting opportunity for somebody with experience to us as Racing Risk Operations Lead.  This role will see you delivering day-in-day-out results. As a leader you help deliver team success through cultivating an environment of objective data analysis and insight with impact to find both growth opportunities and cost efficiencies.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity will see you lead the Racing Risk team of 5 talented team members. You will be using cutting edge tools and analytics capability to ensure best-in-class risk management

Key accountabilities for this role include:

• Performance - managing a team accountable for handling risk management on racing for Sportsbet – including but not limited to price changes, profiling & segmentation, liability management, performance reporting. Establishing KPIs to measure team performance. Delivering day-in-day-out results against KPIs. Cultivating an environment of objective data analysis and insight with impact to find both growth opportunities and cost efficiencies
• People – objective setting, performance ratings, coaching and regular 1:1s.
• Organising -  Establish clear responsibilities and accountabilities for each shift. Optimising processes within and across teams
• Doing – Some of the role will be ‘on the tools’; performing the role of a Senior Risk Analyst to a high standard. Empowered to make calls on laying beyond templates. Drawing insights from the data to inform business decisions
• Don’t keep our customers waiting. All racing settlement and much of our pricing is supported by automation. When things do go wrong we’re often on the coal face - fix them quickly, diagnose the issues and aim to find solutions to avoid reoccurrence

  • Risk & Trading Managers to contribute to and implement strategies/processes
  • Operations & Tech Teams to identify and resolve customer pain points
  • Promos, Retention & Product Teams to launch innovative new offerings to customers
  • Modelling & Analytics Teams to introduce new techniques for profiling
  • Trading Solutions Tech Team to improve tooling & automation
• Contribution to departmental people plan & strategies
• Develop strong knowledge of Australian racing and betting industry landscape. Ensuring regulatory compliance

IS THIS ROLE FOR ME?

You’re a mixture of the above, a true all-rounder! However, you will also have:

• Good organisational & leadership skills
• Knowledge of the Mathematics of bookmaking
• Strong attention to detail
• Time/priority/stakeholder management
• Effective at collaborating & communicating with diverse stakeholder groups
• Detailed understanding of betting (desirable)
• Unquestioned integrity
• Rational & logical temperament
• 2+ years relevant experience
