The opportunity
Reporting to the Director, you will lead our Trading activities, responsible for developing and executing strategies on behalf of customers. You will create your own tools to identify and measure opportunities as the market changes. You’ll run trading activities, forecasting of short and medium term financial exposures, analysis of strategies to optimise portfolio value with consideration of short, medium and long-term earnings, cash requirements and risk.
Other responsibilities include:
- Managing wholesale trading activities and electricity trading and market contacts
- Sourcing, establishing and negotiation with ISDA counter parties and generators
- Tracking open position in the market
- Research innovative solutions to support new product development
- Analysis of saving opportunities under different hedge scenarios, prepare presentations & provide reports for customers demonstrating benefits, risks etc

You are an experienced, energetic and dynamic trader who challenges the status quo. You love solving complex problems and you’re ready to try new ways in optimising portfolio management. You’re able to connect with customers and engage with key decision makers. You take responsibility for your continued learning and development.
You have the proven ability to:
- Excel in a commercial environment
- Understand and communicate technical concepts
- Exhibit a high degree of influence and negotiation skills
- Analyse complex data and make recommendations accordingly
- Present to business leaders and executive teams
- Communicate clearly and effectively – verbally and in writing
