About the role: Professional Standards Manager (Trustee Wealth Services)

The key purpose of this role is to:

  • Manage the Professional Standards stream within Business & Client Assurance. The Professional Standards stream encompasses the implementation and management of the business and client assurance framework within TWS (non-superannuation), by delivering a first line of defence with a specific focus on our advice, philanthropy, trusts, estate administration and estate planning business.
  • Have a key focus on developing and implementing assurance programs along with the production of high quality analytics and reporting on business performance. 

The incumbent will work collaboratively with key business stakeholders within TWS and Enterprise Risk teams to better understand, protect and improve the TWS business, more specially:

  • Assist relevant TWS business unit programs and activities to bring an appropriate level of rigor and discipline to initiatives that relate to process improvements and quality assurance outcomes.
  • Provide a client centric approach with the ability to create and operate in a highly collaborative team environment across TWS and all other relevant parts of EQT.
  • Offer support to TWS business units to help achieve their strategic, business and growth plans.
  • Work with key internal and external stakeholders including TWS business units and its clients, various regulators, Enterprise Risk and the relevant Boards.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Demonstrate experience in financial services, particularly in compliance, risk management, governance and assurance matters as they relate to financial advice, product, and traditional trustee services including estate planning and administration
  • A solid understanding of the financial services industry including its regulatory context and the trends relating to regulatory reform
  • A strong understanding of the Australian Securities & Investment Commission regulatory framework and compliance requirements
  • Some level of experience preferred as it relates to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission regulatory framework and related obligations and requirements
  • Experience in the operation and management of financial advice requirements in the traditional trustee services environment
  • Exposure to the philanthropic/charitable trust sector, insurance, investments and administration
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
  • Experience managing team/s
  • Negotiation and interpersonal skills to motivate and influence
  • A strong customer centric focus, both internal and external with strong communication capabilities – both written and verbal
  • A team player demonstrating ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders with various expectations
  • Demonstrates curiosity, flexibility, proactivity and initiative
  • Solution focused with a desire to learn and understand business models and their key drivers/risks
  • Strong numerical reasoning ability and analytical problem solving skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to organise / prioritise tasks and work efficiently and independently.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, finance or related field (preferred)
  • Membership of relevant professional Associations (preferred)
  • RG146 Compliant (desirable).
