About AFCA
The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) will commence on 1 November 2018, providing consumers and small businesses with easy access to a single scheme to resolve complaints about products and services provided by financial firms.
AFCA will replace the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), the Credit and Investments Ombudsman (CIO) and the Superannuation Complaints Tribunal (SCT).
About the role
We are looking to appoint multiple Case Managers on a full-time, fixed-term contract until 30 June 2020 specialising in banking and finance related matters.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your legal and/or industry experience to resolve more complex disputes whether by negotiation, conciliation or investigation and assessment.
The ideal candidate will have:

5 years legal and/or industry experience in banking, finance or credit;

A sound understanding of the applicable legal and industry framework;

Legal, finance and/or commerce degree;

A good understanding of business principles and commercial practices in relevant financial industry sectors, particularly credit;

Strong written and analytical skills essential for decision making;

Legal, finance and/or commerce degree;

Interest in, or experience working in, alternative dispute resolution; and
- The ability to manage a caseload in an efficient, fair and timely manner with a clear customer focus on achieving timely and fair outcomes.
