The Manager, ERM Group Operational Risk role will work closely with the other ERM group and business facing teams and teams across the AMP Group business units as required, to support them in meeting their governance and reporting accountabilities.

Duties

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Raise awareness and understanding of operational risk and control concepts and their relevance to strategic and operational business activities.
• Provide technical operational risk advice and expertise to the ERM function and AMP Business stakeholders
• Monitor and report on the key risk and control information being input into the AMP Operational risk systems
• Acting as first point of contact to support ERM Business Risk Managers
• Conduct data quality reviews to assess and challenge the quality of data being maintained
• Be alert to current operational risk events, trends and emerging issues, and provide insightful analysis.

Skills & experience

• Relevant experience and a proven track record in a risk management, compliance, internal / external audit or assurance role, with experience in financial services an advantage
• Developed knowledge of operational risk management methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative
• Experience in using operational risk systems (e.g. Governance, Risk & Compliance systems) and developing portfolio analysis and reporting outcomes to support reporting to Senior management and Board
• Good understanding of the financial services industry, relevant regulators (e.g. ASIC and APRA), and current and proposed financial services regulatory and legislative requirements
• Sound organisational planning and implementation skills and demonstrated ability to apply them in rapidly changing business environments
• Ability to implement, monitor and report on risk management and compliance frameworks, risks, and incidents across multiple businesses

Qualification/s required - desirable
• Bachelors in risk management / finance / accounting / commerce/ operations research or equivalent
