About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at NAB for a Senior Associate, Market Risk Oversight to join our Group Market Risk team. In this challenging role, you will be responsible for supporting oversight of the collateral, clearing, margining and derivative valuation adjustments.
Working alongside markets and senior risk professionals, this role will utilise your understanding of market risk, collateral and knowledge of a broad range of financial market instruments.
Other key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Analyse and monitor key market risk metrics, review trigger events and provide escalation to senior risk management.
- Monitor adherence to Limits, Categorise Excesses, remediate with Markets professionals and recommend corrective actions
- Work as a trusted business advisor to the 1st Line and support functions, providing advice where appropriate
- Provide forward looking insights and deep dives in to risks in Markets
- Review and enhance risk frameworks
- Market Risk Governance and Compliance activities
About you
Tertiary qualified, you are a confident finance professional with experience within a markets or markets risk function. You pride yourself on your strong communication skills and ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
In addition, you will have:
- Thorough understanding of collateral, margining and XVA, together with knowledge of market risk taken in different trading books and the underlying product types traded.
- Understanding and application of appropriate limit and oversight frameworks required to identify understand and manage these risks
- Demonstrable ability to identify “new risks” and put in place appropriate controls
- Tertiary qualifications Finance or Maths related fields are essential. Alternatively, CFA, PRMIA, GARP.
