The Role
The opportunity is as a senior trader for the electricity derivatives desk which trades on both the Australian and Singapore exchanges. Initially the core focus will be on the Australian market, where you will be responsible for making trading decisions in collaboration with another senior trader, with a view to generating maximum revenue within the risk framework set. You will have full autonomy with conceptualising and executing trading strategies within a collaborative team environment. On the Singapore market you will be responsible for supporting the execution team, along with the same autonomy to trade the market collaboratively, with opportunity for growth of this book and into other markets over time. Remuneration is directly linked to performance so a high level of ownership is expected for all decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Conceptualisation, execution and management of trading positions
- Managing positional risk to ensure efficiency of returns within the risk framework
- Execution and analysis on the Singapore market
Skill Set and Experience Required for Position:
- Minimum 5 years trading experience with a strong track record of revenue generation within the Australian electricity market, where you created, executed and managed positions and were ultimately responsible for the revenue generated
- Collaborative and able to work within a close knit team
- Intimate knowledge of Australian electricity market fundamentals
- Strong analytical skills across all necessary disciplines
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to communicate effectively with all market counterparts
- Strong market relationships within the Australian electricity market
- Strong understanding of markets and risk management strategies
- Strong Understanding of options and futures contracts
