About the Opportunity
This role is responsible for the provision of risk and compliance services. You will work independently to build relationships with business stakeholders to provide advice. You will also be involved in supporting the business to satisfy their responsibilities regarding relevant internal policy frameworks as well as helping the business to use the frameworks to better achieve their business goals.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Providing commercially sound technical risk and compliance advice on complex risk issues
- Risk and compliance advice relating to product approvals / variations and implementations
- Assistance in the implementation of various risk and compliance initiatives
- Designing and implementing risk control frameworks that meet the needs of the business to mitigate risks where they arise
- Stakeholder management
- Representation on various working groups and management forums
- Keeping abreast of regulatory change and industry best practice
- Controls assurance reviews including third party suppliers & alliances
- Marketing and website due diligence reviews
- Breach and incident handling (investigations)
- Policy implementation
- Education, assistance and oversight of the implementation of regulatory change
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant academic qualifications, e.g. a university degree
- Proven experience in operational Risk Management, Compliance or equivalent role
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work as a team member
- Operational risk and investigative skills, along with an exceptional verbal and written (especially report writing) communication ability
- Familiarity with the relevant regulatory and legal compliance requirements (e.g. APRA/Life Act) of a Life Insurance company
- Computer literacy and a good knowledge of relevant software
- Excellent written and verbal skills in order to articulate technical issues associated to work area
- Well-developed stakeholder management skills with the ability to consult and influence effectively both internally and externally.
