The team is responsible for managing the 1st Line Risk activities for the most dynamic and profitable areas of the bank across retail banking. This a senior role with accountability for managing the risks surrounding new product changes across an ever evolving product set. This role would suit a proactive risk & compliance individual looking for a broad role with a very wide remit to drive continuous improvement and change.
The following are the main responsibilities of the role:
- Lead and drive a risk team within a changeable, dynamic environment
- Provide sound and specialist operational risk advice to the relevant business heads
- Carve out a role in a newly created team of risk professionals across the 1st Line of Defence
- Ensure ongoing improvement and implementation of the Risk & Compliance Management frameworks
- Partner with the 2nd line of defence appropriate product teams to ensure compliance plans are adhered to across the business
- Manage ongoing change projects across the BAU function
To be successful in the role you will ideally possess the following skills:
- 5-10+ years Operational Risk/Compliance Management experience across financial services or a consulting firm
- Experience with Wealth products - such as Life Insurance and Superannuation would be highly advantageous
- Experience with building and developing risk frameworks
- Process improvement mindset and ability to manage change
- Excellent Stakeholder management skills
- Superb interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
