Our client is a leader within their market niche and is experiencing a sustained phase or growth and innovation. We are looking for a Commercial and Quantitative Analyst with an experience of financial markets to apply their experience in a dynamic and high calibre environment. This is a key role that will provide analytical, pricing and forecasting support to facilitate achievement of financial metrics and growth objectives in key markets.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the development of quantitative models to support pricing decision making
- Provide quantitative analysis on trends in the relevant markets to inform dealing strategies or pricing activities
- Assist with market pricing requests and modelling requirements associated with target clients or other opportunities.
- Provide analysis and reports in relation to market behavior and trends including spot market trends, demand / supply dynamics and forward market trends.
- Contribute to the creation of bid materials and materials for presenting unique pricing structures to new customers
- Contribute to the development of models and assumption sets to support evaluation of differing contracting strategies.
- Contribute to the development and ongoing use of forecasting and risk models.
- Undertake quantitative analysis to assist the business identify new opportunities for value creation or value protection and to assess their relative merits of each opportunity.
- Provide analysis and decision support services to pursue new contracting and value creation opportunities
- Monitor and report on trends in the market with respect to prices, market dynamics, asset performance and evolving market patterns.
- Participate in the development of Market assumptions for financial models or other models as required.
The successful candidate will have the relevant tertiary and post-graduate studies (ideally CFA part-qualified or qualified) and experience in the analysis of price data for financial markets on a historical and forward-looking basis to identify trends, risks and opportunities. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to contribute to the development, maintenance and ongoing improvement of a variety of models. In addition, you will have analysed customer profiles and contributed to the development of models used for pricing customer contracts and providing input to response documents. You will also be able to contribute to the development and maintenance of procedures and systems that relate to pricing and market risk analysis and provide ad hoc analytical support for decision making and generate ad hoc reports.
