ROLE
The Compliance Officer reports to the Compliance Manager and works within the division that is responsible for the compliance and risk management for Whitehelm Capital Pty Ltd (‘Whitehelm’) and its overseas subsidiaries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is responsible for providing advice and assistance on a wide range of matters relevant to compliance, including:
- reviewing written materials for compliance with various policies and client contractual obligations;
- providing advice on a wide range of matters relating to compliance;
- collaborating with other business units;
- preparing and coordinating client compliance obligations;
- assisting with investment settlement and processing;
- ensuring compliance with Australian laws, regulations and our compliance framework;
- liaising with external parties, including clients, lawyers and auditors as required; and
- fulfilling the role of secretary to Whitehelm’s internal investment committees.
SKILLS & QUALITIES
To be successful in this role you will have 5 years’ prior experience in a challenging professional services environment; a solutions-based approach with the ability to influence action and a willingness to be assertive; excellent communication skills; strong organisational skills including managing multiple tasks/competing deadlines.
