Job Description

The Director of Corporate Communications is focused on enhancing Visa's reputation in Australia, New Zealand & South Pacific. The role is Sydney-based and will report directly into the Head of Corporate Communications for Australia, New Zealand & South Pacific. This role would ideally suit someone currently at the Account Manager level in an Agency.

You will support the breadth of the Communications function, working across external and internal communications, with specific responsibility for employee and client communications and social impact programs to support business objectives and drive growth across the region.

You will be responsible for working with and delivering strategic communications counsel to cross-functional teams and Asia Pacific colleagues, as part of a strategic and high performing Corporate Communications function.

The role is part of Visa's Global Corporate Communications group, which oversees all corporate communications functions at Visa Inc.
 
Job Summary:

  • Develop and execute internal communication strategy, including the delivery of all staff meetings and events, to drive employee engagement, champion a new culture and support the organisation's Leadership Principles and business objectives
  • Support delivery of client communication objectives that answer why Visa through written communications, events and knowing and understanding the hot issues in the industry and business
  • Consult with and counsel cross-functional teams to support the delivery of business objectives and drive end-to-end campaign delivery, which can include external communication plans, content development and working with media and/or agency to drive messaging to market
  • Develop and manage Visa's social impact program, which includes charitable giving, staff volunteering and strategic opportunities drive growth
  • Manage and build relationships with clients, external suppliers and wider communications network to bring communications best practice to your work

Qualifications

Communications Experience & Behaviours:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications 
  • 6-8 years' communications experience, ideally with in-house and agency background
  • Knowledge and experience in managing projects end-to-end 
  • Excellent verbal communication, including interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to think strategically, with audience-first mindset
  • Creative, curious, proactive and high-energy individual with an ability to execute and self-start
  • Passionate about the technology, banking and retail industry and communicating Visa's role within it
