The role:

An excellent career opportunity and pathway within a leading Superannuation Fund and its Investments team where you will be a significant contributor in the delivery of further private equity investment success for Hostplus and our members.

In this newly created role, you will support the Private Equity and Venture Capital Fund Investment team with analysis of new opportunities, investment themes, return factors and risks, and development of investment papers. Reporting to the Head of Private Equity, you will be accountable for reviewing current performance of fund managers and portfolios and will work closely with the wider Investment team to develop innovative investment structures and strategies.

Your key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

• Quantitative analysis and assessment to support potential action plans.
• Monitor and identify key issues, success factors and risks.
• Collect, store and analyse a range of investment data to identify key themes.
• Prepare and deliver investment information.
• Stay abreast of market trends, social and economic factors and new technologies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to strategy formulation and implementation for the Board of Trustee Directors.

To be successful in this challenging and fast-paced role, you will be an experienced Investment Analyst with expertise in funds management and technology investments, ideally in the superannuation industry. Due to the nature of Hostplus’ investment portfolio, a wide skill set and experience in other disciplines such as Engineering and Science or (Life Sciences) in a similar role will be highly regarded.   

You have demonstrated skills and experience in financial modelling with advanced mathematical and spreadsheet skills. You are naturally a pragmatic thinker with a clear and concise communication style, and you are able to synthesise and present insights in simplified form.
