A unique and challenging opportunity exists for a technically astute individual to further their career in risk management by joining a multi award winning financial institution. This role in the Risk Management team will be responsible for the protection of Heritage Bank's licences under which it operates.
Key accountabilities will include:
- The development and maintenance of compliance processes, frameworks and policies
- A good understanding of the wealth management and financial planning processes to ensure operational compliance
- The completion of risk assessments of future ventures
- Preparation of necessary reports for Senior Management, Board Committees and external regulatory bodies
- The review, analysis and interpretation of regulatory and legal obligations
- Monitoring of regulatory changes and current practices in compliance
As the role is a leadership position, it is expected that education and collaboration will take place with your direct reports as well as all other business units within Heritage to ensure compliance and understanding.
To be successful in this role you will require:
- Sound knowledge and understanding of wealth management
- Experience in developing compliance policies and procedures
- Experience and sound understanding of AFSL regulatory regime
- Proven experience as Compliance Manager
- In-depth knowledge of the industry’s standards and regulations
- Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping
Some travel may be required so a drivers licence will be essential as well as certification as a compliance professional. Ideally you will be tertiary qualified in law, business or a related field and have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
This management role will be based in Toowoomba, Queensland. Toowoomba is the ideal alternative to living in Brisbane.
