About the role

As a Risk Partner, you will provide second line oversight, advice, insight and appetite to ensure that risk is effectively managed in our Technology and Security functions, acting as a trusted advisor to ensure ‘no surprises’ for the business and for Risk. The role involves working independently to form a holistic view of the operating and risk environment (internal and external) while providing advice to business teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Engagement with Technology senior leaders, and involvement and influence of strategic technology initiatives,
• Collaborating with Technology and other stakeholders (e.g. Security, Procurement, Financial Crime) in designing the frameworks to enable the safe adoption of new technologies and methodologies such as cloud infrastructure, agile delivery, and microservices / API’s,
• Reviewing significant technology changes to ensure that the risks are well articulated, that controls and mitigating actions have been identified, and that the appropriate stakeholders have been engaged,
• Directing material outsourcing arrangements through governance processes, e.g. risk assessment and regulator approval, and
• Collaborating with 1st and 2nd line risk colleagues to ensure that Technology risks and controls are comprehensive and appropriate.

About you

Ideally you are tertiary qualified in finance, commerce, technology or law. You are an experienced professional with ~10 years experience, preferably within Financial Services. You will also have the following:

• Experience in technology delivery, e.g. application development, service management, project delivery, cloud infrastructure,
• Experience in risk management, i.e. risk and control identification, control design, and control testing will be highly regarded,
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with influence and to engage and sustain a productive relationship with senior stakeholders, and
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
