Technical Capability Trainer

The key responsibility of this position is to deliver workplace training and targeted coaching to all staff with specific focus on technical skills and knowledge to complete role specific tasks.

This position is integral to the success of the area and ensuring that we have capable and highly skilled staff members by being the advocate for learning.

Colonial First State Wrap is part of Colonial First State and is a leading platform and portfolio administration service provider.  Our multiple awarding winning Platform is feature rich, designed for large, sophisticated dealer groups, platform promoters and institutional clients requiring a broad range of portfolio features.

The Technical Training Team sits within Wrap Operations division and will work to drive technical capability across the business as required.

We do this by:

  • The facilitation of the Operations Induction
  • The facilitation of effective classroom based training to ensure each staff member has the knowledge and capability to fulfil the requirements of their role
  • The use of a variety of post training techniques including the tracking and analysis of performance followed up by additional training and/or one-to-one coaching to close identified gaps
  • Manage the assessment and competency framework including formal feedback  on the behaviours and performance of trainees
  • Reviewing a wealth of business intelligence and liaising with Team Managers to identify and execute proactive training  and coaching to uplift capability across systems, process business rules and service resulting in a measurable and sustained improvement in performance
  • To track, analyse and report results to demonstrate the effectiveness of training and coaching.  To follow-up on action plans and commitment to ensure the continuous improvement of outcomes
  • Development, implementation and modification of training collateral to meet the needs and objectives of the business, including the seamless integration of business change into existing training
  • Role modelling and promoting the CBA values and behaviours at all times to trainees and stakeholders
  • Co-ordinating other training requirements for the area (where appropriate)         
  • Network with CBA/CFS Learning & Development teams

We’re interested in hearing from people who demonstrate:

  • Financial Services Industry experience, including administration & service experience
  • Previous experience as a trainer of back office and operations processes
  • Excellent communication skills across all mediums including presentation & facilitation skills to a variety of stakeholders
  • Instructional design capability with the use of Captivate is a must
  • Can demonstrate an array of coaching techniques and their practical application
  • Rounded in all Microsoft Office products
  • Resilience and ability to adapt to unplanned business requirements
  • Supports an environment of continuous improvement

The below is preferred:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • RG146 Superannuation Essentials compliance or compliance achieved within 12 months of commencement
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent technical experience highly valued
