The opportunity

QBE is embarking on a journey of growth in Data and Analytics and we are looking for a number of experienced Data professionals to help us. 

This is a newly created position within QBE’s rapidly growing Data & Analytics team. Reporting to the Measurements & Insights Manager, you will be responsible for the team that delivers the Data & Analytics components of regulatory requests within the QBE Australian and New Zealand business.  You will regularly consult with Senior Managers within the Legal/Compliance, Actuarial, Product and Finance functions and form part of QBE-wide project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Regulatory Reporting team within Data & Analytics, and lead other resources on an as needs basis
  • Deliver data and information on behalf of the Data & Analytics team as required by Regulatory bodies
  • Represent Data & Analytics within the broader QBE business in relation to all Regulatory requests involving the provision of data
  • Establish and document a disciplined approach to servicing regulatory reporting requests and ensure that all requests are dealt with in accordance with this

  • Ability to consult and deal with senior managers from a variety of functions within the business (e.g. Actuarial, Legal, Finance, Product)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
  • Project management skills
  • Being able to interpret and clarify written requests in order to define scope and articulate the requirements clearly to the team
  • Ability to estimate effort accurately and manage expectations ongoing
  • Understanding the business of insurance and the products QBE provides
  • Planning to ensure foreseeable requests are resourced appropriately
