Team Overview

The Corporate Actions Team is a integral part of the Operations team and is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all corporate action events covering both domestic and international markets. 

Role

A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced Portfolio Administration Analyst to join our Melbourne based operation. The role sits within our Corporate Actions team and the successful candidate will be responsible for researching and processing of corporate action events for domestic and international financial products, including but not limited to, dividend entitlements and calculations, share purchase plans, rights issues, bonus issues and capital reconstructions.

 

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Based in Melbourne CBD
  • Apply and monitor Corporate Action Capital Events such as Rights Issues, Share Purchase Plans, Bonus issues, In Specie Distribution, Consolidations and Mergers/Schemes
  • Make elections for Proxy Voting upon request
  • Maintain Corporate Action Administration Database
  • Income Reconciliation and statement verification using internal Linear Portal
  • Advise & monitor notifications of elections to custodians/counterparties
  • Following up on information that is lacking upon announcement by liaising with company secretaries, registries and investor relations departments;
  • Balance all Corporate Actions events within specific deadlines and investigate where necessary to resolve Corporate Actions discrepancies
  • Review Stock Reconciliation to comment on Corporate Action related events and timing issues
  • Ensure all event notifications are advised accurately and timely to clients
  • Respond to all client queries within 24 hours
  • Escalate all issues / potential issues to Team Leader immediately upon identification
  • Identify process improvements in the corporate actions division
  • Opening and reviewing documents received on daily basis across multiple schemes
  • Lodging registry services documentation to domestic and international registries / taxation authorities
  • Document management duties completed daily

Skills and experience

Professional and Organisational Knowledge

  • Experience in administration of private client portfolios
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Investment Administration
  • Understanding of complex financial transactions and requests for data related to capital gains tax, transaction history, corporate actions, off market transfers and beneficial ownership
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • IRESS IPS experience             

Qualifications

  • Ideally tertiary qualifications or study in a financial services related discipline
