WA Super is a not for profit, industry fund that manages $3.6bn in retirement savings for over 60,000 Western Australians and 4,000 local businesses. Originally established to service Local Government employees, WA Super is now available to all West Australians.

The Role

This is a new permanent role which would suit an experienced person seeking a part-time opportunity working 2-3 days per week.

The Business Development Manager (IFA) seeks and converts business development opportunities via third party distribution channels namely the Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) market to grow the WA Super footprint, brand awareness and platform usage. Responsible for establishing and implementing an ongoing operational business plan to build the opportunity business pipeline to drive business outcomes towards achievement of FUM/Flows and have input into the strategic direction of WA Super in the IFA market.                                                 

Duties

  • Maximise engagement with financial advisers in the IFA market by ensuring account management plans are in place. 
  • Achievement of FUM/Flow and activity appointment outcomes through building and converting the business opportunity pipeline.
  • Scope and conduct agreed number of financial adviser appointment activity within allocated financial expense budget.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of IFA market strategy            

You

To be successful in this role you will possess;

  • RG146 compliant;
  • Business Development / Account management experience;
  • Experience in dealing with the independent adviser market;
  • Meet the 'fit and proper; standard pursuant to the provisions of the Superannuation Industry legislation and board policy;
  • Sound knowledge of the financial services and/or the superannuation industry;
  • Degree qualified in an appropriate field (desirable);                                     
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated energetic and proactive approach to building relationships;
  • Effective communication (oral, verbal & written);
  • Proven ability to establish work priorities and manage tight deadlines; and
  • Highly computer literate.
