An opportunity has become available within our Pernod Ricard Australia Finance team for a Business Analyst. The successful candidate with have an opportunity to work in a dynamic team, partnering closely with our Independents team.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Planning & Analysis
- Analyse and interpret monthly channel trading results and make recommendations to management to mitigate current or potential business risks and leverage opportunities
- Provide insight through the interpretation and explanation of current and future trends with the aim of influencing positive commercial outcomes
- Ownership of the Contract Assessment Tool (CAT), including provision of support and training to the sales team, ensuring approval processes are followed
Trade Spend Management
- Ensure financial accruals are accurately calculated and captured in the reporting and transactional systems (Promax and E1)
- In conjunction with the Senior Business Analyst & Commercial Manager:
- Ensure compliance of the PRA Pricing Strategy through maintenance of standardised deal sheets and review of promotional programs
- Evaluate and challenge pricing decisions & promotional tactics to maximise short and long-term profitability
- Preparation of the Trade Spend balance sheet reconciliation
Reporting
- Preparation of monthly trading results and financial performance reports by Brand, Banner and Channel
- Review enhancements and developments of sales reporting so that they are streamlined and are insight driven.
- Participate in the continuous improvement, ongoing maintenance and review of all aspects of financial reporting, financial models and templates and processes
Leadership and Development
- Assist all members of the PRA Finance team with the delivery of performance plans and individual objectives as appropriate
- Financial Leadership – develop financial and commercial acumen of commercial sales and Field Teams
The successful Candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications, ideally in Accounting, Economics, Business or similar with CA or CPA qualifications.
- Previous experience preferably in the FMCG industry.
- Strong systems and spreadsheet skills, using Excel, Essbase and BI tools.
- A results focused mind-set with experience dealing with multiple stakeholders (internal & external).
- An excellent ability to analyse numbers and take a recommended course of action.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, build strong cross functional relationships, manage your workload successfully, and work well in a team environment.
- The ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and thrive in a fast-pace environment where your talent will be recognised and rewarded.
