The Business & Private Banking (BPB) Operational Risk and Compliance (OR&C) team provides advice and support to the BPB segments in implementing and embedding the Compliance Risk Management Framework (CRMF) and Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF).
Our team partners with the business to review and advise on product distribution and significant process changes from a Compliance perspective whilst ensuring that we have appropriate strategies and frameworks in place to assess, manage and report on our business’ day to day Compliance management activities.
When delivering these services, our key aim is to support BPB and the Group to achieve its strategic goals including operating within the BPB Risk Appetite.
In this line 2 Compliance role, you will develop strong internal relationships as you take the lead in delivering to the business consistent and fit for purpose Compliance management practices and coordinating the ongoing implementation of the CRMF.
Your responsibilities:
- Interpret and advise on Compliance areas of focus including (but not limited to) general licensing, product distribution, conduct, privacy, consumer lending and industry codes driven obligations.
- Contribute to the design, implementation and on-going improvement of the Compliance policies, standards, procedures and systems across BPB and the Group. This includes contributions to the development of Group Policies and the CRMF.
- Actively participate in and drive Group Initiatives to continuously uplift Compliance risk management awareness and capability, senior leadership engagement and business sustainability through the execution of the CRMF.
- Support regulatory change initiatives to advise on the impact of new/proposed/amended laws, regulations and industry codes that may impact BPB business activities. This may include recommending action plans to ensure ongoing Compliance.
You will bring strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence and negotiate practical outcomes for the business.
To be successful in the role, you will also have:
- Prior compliance/regulatory advisory experience within the Financial Services Industry.
- Proven capability to navigate complex business and client facing scenarios (e.g. through prior experience managing external dispute resolution cases) and an interest in further development.
- Ability to prioritise, schedule and deliver based on challenging deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
