Risk Manager, Operational Risk

The Risk Manager position is an integral part of the Operational Risk team that will provide specialist risk management and leadership support to the CFS Wrap and broader CFS Operations team.

As a Risk Manager, you will contribute in driving a superior end to end customer experience through the delivery of the CFS Wrap risk profile, management of compliance Issues & Incidents, and overall enhancement of the risk culture through numerous initiatives.

The Operational Risk team are part of the CFS Operations team and play a key role in delivering and supporting the CBA Group’s key priority of customer focus and strength. The team will focus on the delivery of the Operational Risk Management Framework in a Line 1 capacity supporting CFS Operations with the governance, management, measurement, issue analytics and reporting, while enhancing the risk awareness culture within the business.

We are committed to providing high quality wealth management and platform solutions for financial advisers servicing clients with sophisticated investment needs. 

We do this by:

•           Continually improving the processes, infrastructure and performance capability of the business by reducing risk and improving productivity;

•           Driving the reduction of CFS Wrap Operations Issues including the analysis and identification of potential systemic issues raised through all channels to determine impacts on our customers, people and businesses;

•           Contributing to the development and enhancement of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs);

•           Supporting strong risk culture and awareness based on the Organisational Risk Management Framework (ORMF);

•           Ensuring the Executive Managers, Senior Managers, Managers, Team Leaders and Operations teams are kept informed of any relevant matters pertaining to the administration of their relevant areas;

•           Assisting with Board, Risk or Private Clients papers where required;

•           Contributing to business continuity planning and testing activities where required;

•           Coordinating and facilitating the Wrap Operations Risk Forum as necessary;

•           Taking responsibility for checking the incident for accuracy & completeness prior to closure;

•           Issue Management, including the overall responsibility of issues incorporating delegation of lodgement and follow-up etc.

We’re interested in hearing from people who possess:

•           Experience in internal audit or operational risk; ideally within financial services; with a strong operational focus

•           Excellent communication skills across all mediums including presentations to all manner of stakeholders

•           Exceptional Stakeholder Management skills with a proven track record in negotiation and influencing aptitudes

•           Ability to create an environment of continuous improvement and leading by example

•           Decision making skills, to be able to resolve complex issues

•           Excellent time management skills, including working towards multiple deadlines at once

•           Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent risk experience will be highly valued

•           RG146 Compliance

•           Financial Services experience, including proven operational risk experience
